Jim Ray is a graduate of the University of New Orleans, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. After teaching for two years, Jim began educating the public on investing and retirement planning. His mission is to help clients understand their financial considerations and goals, preparing them for a financially secure future.

Jim launched his career in the financial services industry as a Registered Representative, initially offering mutual funds and focusing primarily on governmental 457(b) plans. After joining RPA in its founding year 2000, he continued developing his work in the governmental market while adding private sector 401(k) and SIMPLE plans as well as 403(b) and 403(b) ERISA plans. In serving these employer-sponsored plans, Jim develops personal relationships with participants, working with both the employees and their spouses to develop comprehensive goals for retirement.

Jim’s commitment to education includes being a frequent presenter for the annual conferences of the Organization of Parish Administrative Officials (OPAO) and the Governmental Finance Officers Association (GFOA-LA). He is a member and past President of the Rotary Club of Metairie and currently serves as the Club Secretary.

As an Investment Advisor Representative, Jim holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 registrations and is an Investment Company/Variable Products Principal (Series 26). He maintains the designation of Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) from the International Foundation for Retirement Education as well as the designation of Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF).

Jim is also licensed for life, health, and variable contracts in both Louisiana and Mississippi.
